Many sites have strict policies when it comes to Nudity, hate, violence, and use of public figures. Before you think "does it really matter?" Let me give you a few examples to illustrate that this is indeed a serious matter.

For many image creation sites, the privacy filters come into play for some sites if the image prompts contain a lot of objectionable words, or terms that violate a site's Terms of service. I'm seeing that a lot with hugging face. In fact, with Stability Diffusion V2, or Nightcafe, I have seen that terms like "Children" "Old" even the use of words to define certain body parts (e.g.) is not allowed.

NSFW images may be blackened out by the AI image tools

Many times, the page will throw an error right away, or the images generated will be blackened out. A black image typically means the images were rendered, but the output generated was considered Not Safe For Work (NSFW) by the AI imaging tool.  I am glad that these filters are already working, and they're progressing very well. 

Words like children, child, nudity, some profanity lock down the algorithm from running at all.

On a lighter note, imagine the amount of errors I would have received for our children's storytelling podcasts! A classic example is as below- typical keywords I used in the past for creating artwork for episodes of Baalgatha and Fairytales of India podcasts.

#Negative Prompts

Many sites offer the option of adding a negative prompt to the image generation. Negative prompts for Stable Diffusion 2.1 may include the following:

| disfigured, ugly:-1.0, too many fingers:-1.0

In addition, the standard negative prompt from Nightcafe shows the following:

"ugly, tiling, poorly drawn hands, poorly drawn feet, poorly drawn face, out of frame, extra limbs, disfigured, deformed, body out of frame, blurry, bad anatomy, blurred, watermark, grainy, signature, cut off, draft"

Caveat Note that adding negative prompt to the image generation may result in some unexpected results. When I used the negative prompts from Stable Diffusion at on one of the other sites, some NSFW images were generated, or the AI engine kept rendering images of guns. I have reached out to the developers, who have agreed to look into the matter. This was in late December 2022, by the time this book is published, that issue might have been resolved hopefully.

Prompt given for rendering was

"A oil painting of a couple in the style of Artgem, symmetrical, dark colours, highly detailed, glossy finish, smooth, intricate details, fog, 4k, spiritual, ethereal | disfigured, ugly:-1.0, too many fingers:-1.0 "
